Exercise Ball Reviews

Whether you call them an exercise ball, a fitness ball or even a stability ball, there is no question that investing in an inflatable exercise device that targets your core (torso) is a simple, inexpensive option for you.

The beauty of these exercise balls is that they need not be for exercise at all! You can very easily use these as a chair replacement while you sit at your desk, strengthening your core while doing your work. Exercise balls are actually an option for some of the classrooms at my daughter’s school, that’s how popular they have become. And I’m not talking for gym - I’m talking for homeroom.

What should you look for in an exercise ball? Personal exercise ball reviews by people who have actually used the product, making sure you get the properly sized ball and investing in an anti-burst ball (which most of the good ones are) are all key. I’d also make sure a footpump is included.

I hope you find this exercise ball review helpful in finding the perfect ball for your needs.

Max Fitness Exercise Ball

Max Fitness Exercise Ball

In my search to find the top-rated exercise ball I settled on the Max Fitness Exercise Ball. There are a number of factors that go into selecting a gold medal winner and this ball delivers in every aspect.

First, a note about ball size. Typically they come in 3 sizes - 55cm, 65cm and 75cm. It is important that you select the right size for your height! 6’0″ or taller go with the 75cm, 5’4″ or shorter go with the 55cm. All of you in the middle go for the 65cm.

Why go for this exercise ball? Because it offers Anti Burst, includes a foot pump, has a great texture and just looks really cool.

Valeo Body Ball

Valeo Body Ball

The Valeo Body Ball seems to be the industry standard at hospitals so if it is good enough for them it’s probably good enough for you!

Even if you don’t see yourself exercising every day you can simply use it at your desk. Sitting on the body ball forces your body to stay balanced, thereby strengthening your stabilizing muscles and core.

Additional features that you might like about this exercise ball include:
# Specially formulated to deflate slowly if punctured
# Includes step-by-step exercise program with wall chart
# Comes with high-volume, dual-action air pump

This is the only 75cm ball I could find in red, so if the color is your thing then I would check this one out.

TKO Anti Burst Fitness Ball

TKO Anti Burst Fitness Ball

The TKO Anti Burst Fitness Ball is more expensive than the Valeo but less expensive than the Max Fitness, putting it in a nice sweet spot of affordability. Although since all of these balls list for under $30 they are all very affordable.

This exercise ball features Anti Burst technology but instead of a foot pump it includes a hand pump. Personally I prefer foot pumps but to each their own.

One of the things I like about this ball is it has more of a matte finish rather than a shiny finish. Of course it is personal preference as to what you like. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these exercise balls.
