How often do you look in the mirror and wish that the person looking back at you was a great deal less, well, bulky? It happens to a lot of people and in this day and age, there are many commercialized ways that we can decrease our mass. However, isn’t there a simpler way to help our physical appearance and health without spending money on diet programs or severely altering our way of life? Yes. In fact, there are several small changes you can do to your diet that will begin to help your current health concerns.

edibles

  1. Water - In nearly every diet, consuming more water is always preferable. Humans are mostly water and it stands to reason that our basic need for survival contributes to our health. Instead of a pop with lunch, drink more water. Some diets require up to 80 ounces of water per day. Not only will you remain saturated, which benefits all kinds of health issues including some headaches, but your body can flush out toxins and replenish lost liquids from things like sweat.
  2. Spinach Salad - Instead of loading your plate with a huge bucketful of potatoes to go with your chicken, why not try a spinach salad instead. As opposed to salads made of lettuce, spinach has a great deal of vitamins and minerals that endorse weight loss and a healthier living. Try it with some mushrooms, shredded cheese, and topped with light ranch dressing and you won’t even realize it’s a healthy food.
  3. Cheese Sticks - Why not replace sugar-loaded snacks with cheese sticks? Cheese contains a great deal of vitamins and high quality proteins that are far more beneficial to your health than frosting-covered chocolate cakes. Loaded with calcium for bone density, cheese is also a source of riboflavin which assists in metabolizing foods for energy and metabolizing fats in the body.
  4. Coffee Additives - Millions of coffee drinkers adorn their cups with great amounts of sugar. Did you know that it is possible to lose weight simply from removing sugar from your coffee? Well, that is if you are one of those people who drink coffee all day long. Simply switching to an additive such as Splenda could sweeten your coffee and remove the excessive sugar intake. There have been people that lost up to 20 pounds by simply switching to these additives without altering their lifestyle.
  5. Cereals - Another method of promoting anti-laziness and healthier eating is by removing sugar-loaded cereals and replace them with eggs and whole wheat toast in the morning. Add a V8 to the breakfast, and you will feel the difference in your attitude over a period of a few days. Your physical feelings aside, this form of a breakfast is far superior to eating a bowl of cereal in the morning and the increased proteins will give you far more energy.

Along with eating healthier, you should always endeavor to exercise more often. This could be in the form of walking to the corner store over driving. You could put the remote down and actually get up to change the channel. You could also make it a habit to walk up and down flights of stairs when possible. These may seem like small steps, but they could be the ones you take to promote a healthier person looking back at you from the mirror.
