After posting my sixth weekly loss in a row last week I wrote that I “can’t be stopped” and while I do still think that is true, there has been a small bump in the road thrown my way this week - a two pound gain that ends my weight loss streak.
When I was planning out my week this week it didn’t seem like it would be a challenging one but it turns out that I didn’t take a couple of parties into consideration - New Years Eve at the neighbor’s where we had a big buffet and New Years Day at my parents house where we had a nice big dinner. I did poorly at the buffet and so-so at the dinner and with the weigh-in coming this morning there was no time to try and work any of that food off, hence the gain. I guess I should be glad it wasn’t worse.
Things I did well this week:
- I stuck fairly well to my eating plan until Friday night
- I got a little exercise in playing Kinect Sports for a total of about 3 hours
Things I did not so well this week:
- Did not have a good plan going into New Years Even and New Years Day and that cost me
- I’ve been drinking Diet Coke all week instead of water, need to get back on the water
- Had a box of movie theater M&Ms while watching True Grit
This week should be a good opportunity to lose back the weight I gained and then some. I’m not doing much traveling for work and I have a new elliptical machine at home to play with.
My goal of losing 40 pounds by June 30th, 2011 is still in sight, but I’ve got to buckle down and get another losing streak going.
