I’ve lost 10 pounds in the first 5 weeks of my Countdown to Vegas challenge, and I have managed a loss each of those 5 weeks. I feel like I am on a tremendous roll but I’m entering this week very worried considering it’s Christmas week and I would really like to still book a loss.
I did something unusual on FatBloggers.net and actually wrote a post describing my meals for the upcoming week. Here’s what I wrote about today:
Monday – I’m on the road Monday and Tuesday, which always presents a challenge. In fact I’m already on the road, writing this from my hotel room, and I have already shopped for some of the food I plan to eat over the next couple of days. Nice to have a room with a kitchenette. For breakfast I will be having oatmeal, a banana and a yogurt. For lunch I’m going to go to Subway and have a turkey sub, without any oils, mayo or cheese. I’ll have apples instead of chips. For dinner I will be making a couple of lettuce wraps with turkey, and I will be indulging in a thin slice of pepperjack cheese. I’ve got a banana and carrots for snacks.
I wrote that yesterday. Let’s see how well I executed on that plan:

Breakfast was a bowl of instant oatmeal, a banana and a yogurt. I had another banana for a morning snack. For lunch I had my traditional foot lung turkey sub on white with spicy mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, olives, jalapenos, spinach, vinegar, salt and pepper. I had a bag of apple slices instead of the chips. I had a Special K protein bar for an afternoon snack.
Dinner was a couple of lettuce wraps with tomatoes, avocado, deli turkey and a slice of pepperjack cheese, a plate of baby carrots and a yogurt.
The only thing I didn’t account for in my planning was the protein bar. Here’s what happened - I went to the gas station to get a paper and some gum and decided to buy a protein bar for tomorrow night’s drive home (something that you will see in my plan for Tuesday). Well, the protein bars were on sale buy 1 get 1 free, so I ended up with 2 instead of 1. Because of that, I had an extra protein bar and it found it’s way into my stomach. Not terrible, especially when you see my estimated calorie totals for the day, but still unplanned and probably unneccessary.
Here is what The Daily Plate (is it even called that anymore now that Livestrong took it over??) thinks about my consumption today:
So how do you think I did? Click a star!
