Rate My Meals – 2010-12-20

December 20, 2010 · 21 comments

I’ve lost 10 pounds in the first 5 weeks of my Countdown to Vegas challenge, and I have managed a loss each of those 5 weeks. I feel like I am on a tremendous roll but I’m entering this week very worried considering it’s Christmas week and I would really like to still book a loss.

I did something unusual on FatBloggers.net and actually wrote a post describing my meals for the upcoming week. Here’s what I wrote about today:

Monday – I’m on the road Monday and Tuesday, which always presents a challenge. In fact I’m already on the road, writing this from my hotel room, and I have already shopped for some of the food I plan to eat over the next couple of days. Nice to have a room with a kitchenette. For breakfast I will be having oatmeal, a banana and a yogurt. For lunch I’m going to go to Subway and have a turkey sub, without any oils, mayo or cheese. I’ll have apples instead of chips. For dinner I will be making a couple of lettuce wraps with turkey, and I will be indulging in a thin slice of pepperjack cheese. I’ve got a banana and carrots for snacks.

I wrote that yesterday. Let’s see how well I executed on that plan:

Monday Meals

Breakfast was a bowl of instant oatmeal, a banana and a yogurt. I had another banana for a morning snack. For lunch I had my traditional foot lung turkey sub on white with spicy mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, olives, jalapenos, spinach, vinegar, salt and pepper. I had a bag of apple slices instead of the chips. I had a Special K protein bar for an afternoon snack.

Dinner was a couple of lettuce wraps with tomatoes, avocado, deli turkey and a slice of pepperjack cheese, a plate of baby carrots and a yogurt.

The only thing I didn’t account for in my planning was the protein bar. Here’s what happened - I went to the gas station to get a paper and some gum and decided to buy a protein bar for tomorrow night’s drive home (something that you will see in my plan for Tuesday). Well, the protein bars were on sale buy 1 get 1 free, so I ended up with 2 instead of 1. Because of that, I had an extra protein bar and it found it’s way into my stomach. Not terrible, especially when you see my estimated calorie totals for the day, but still unplanned and probably unneccessary.

Here is what The Daily Plate (is it even called that anymore now that Livestrong took it over??) thinks about my consumption today:

Bread? Its incredibly high in carbs. Don’t eat it! Bananas and Tomatoes are both very high glycemic. So is oatmeal. Apples are ok in extreme moderation, maybe a quarter slice of a granny smith apple for example in the am, but you’ll get a much better idea of whats happening to your blood sugar if you start using a glucose meter which you can get for free if you buy the test strips. You are most likely in a process of nuking your pancreas and if you don’t get a handle on your carb intake you will become diabetic. The reason you’re having trouble losing weight is the same reason I was- you’re insulin resistant- your cells are blocking the insulin from carrying all that glucose into them so instead of being burned as fuel in your brain, its all being deposited around your midsection as FAT. If you start getting most of your carbs from veges and steer clear of bananas, oatmeal, bread- you’ll lose weight. If you keep eating what you are now, you won’t, you’ll just keep killing yourself. Once you stop overeating carbs, the food cravings will GO AWAY and you’ll start finally seeing consistent weight loss. Your energy level will also increase a lot if you become aware of how to eat for hypoglycemia which you also probably have. Try eating several small protein snacks during the day between meals to keep your brain supplied with enough glucose from sources that aren’t blocked so much from entering the cells. Try eating raw almonds. Soak them first in a brine solution for an hour then dehydrate them in a food dehydrator to dry them out. This eliminates the phytic acid which makes them harder to digest. You will get a lot of energy if you do this. Jerky is another good protein source for these snacks. I make my own with a dehydrator, I make salmon jerky. See more at my blog. Unless we can all somehow generate more awareness of prediabetes, insulin resistance and hypoglycemia, we won’t be able to stop the epidemic. As things stand now, one in three people is expected to become diabetic in the USA within the next 10 years unless we can get the word out on this. What I’m doing works. I went from 246 top 195 so far and am heading down to 180-185 and then I’m going to stay there because I know how, I finally figured it out. Anyone can do what I’m doing, its not hard, its just understanding whats going on in the body.

In response to the comment above. Holy lack of paragraphs batman! TLDR anyways. Okay I read the first bit but stopped after this “The reason you’re having trouble losing weight”. Really, your having trouble John? I think you clearly know what to do based on your original weight loss and the last 5 weeks, you just need to do it.

Also, I have averaged about 300g of carbs over my weight loss, yet I didnt have this trouble that he is speaking of. 9 1/2 months and 87 pounds, clearly carbs are evil.

Cynthia December 21, 2010 at 1:17 pm

Gah! (Not your meals, which look fine, John, but the carb rant in the first comment.)

I do think some individuals are very sensitive to carbs, but it is not everyone. A decade or so ago, I consistently lost weight (62 pounds in a year) and I ate carbs. I eat carbs now. I keep them somewhat moderate, i.e. low sugar, high fiber, as many vegetables/fruits as starch carbs, but one can certainly lose weight with moderate or even high carb eating. Hubby, who has diabetes, loses weight eating some carbs, as long as he is exercising. If anything, last year when he tried Body For Life (high carb, low fat, moderate protein), he lost better than usual. Of course, he was also doing more exercise at the time.

Some folks will do better on a low carb program, but others don’t do as well. It’s never a one-size fits all thing. And the most important part of any weight loss plan is whether one can STICK to it! Since John is sticking to his pretty well at the moment, and losing weight consistently, I don’t see a problem with the posted meals considering he is on the road. I would say protein is a little low, but road eating isn’t easy and overall, the choices seem decent.

John, if your hotel has an exercise room, that might be helpful, as I know the weather has made that difficult for you at home. If not, even walking the hallways can help. Looks like I may be doing a bit of shoveling today to clear the walks, but it is beautifully sunny out for a change, so I won’t mind a bit!

Try eating some Natto. You can find it in an Asian grocerystore. Its fermented soybeans that comes in a small styrofoam container with a small packet of mustard and another small packet of soysauce. You unthaw these (they’re frozen) and mix with raw egg yolk and some green onion, then roll it up in Nori seaweed. This stuff is a superfood. The energy you get from it is incredible.

Heating any food denatures it, destroys the enzymes. I’ve gotten good at separating the egg whites from the egg yolks to just put in the yolks. This stuff looks gross, like barf in fact, but who cares how it looks? It cleans out your arteries and helps you have a ton of energy. It also helps you lose weight.

You can bring it on the road, you just need some blue ice to keep it cold. Eggs you can get anywhere, and sheets of Nori are easy to bring on the road.

There are always healthy alternatives to “road food”, you just have to seek them out and be open to new things.

I learned about Natto from a Japanese guy in my Masters swim club. He is 10 years older than me but is much more fit than I am and is much faster in the pool. He’s a world champion in his age group and competed in the World Masters Games in Australia which is like the Olympics for Masters swimming. He eats a lot of Natto.

Theres another guy in my club who is caucasian like me but is married to a Japanese woman. He eats a ton of Natto and is one of the fastest swimmers in Canada in his agegroup. His fitness level is off the charts. They got me started with it. So check it out man, you’ve got nothing to lose but a ton of unwanted pounds that are currently in a process of killin’ ya.

What motivates me is just thinking about my brother Rob. He died from an aneurysm 2 years ago while crawling under his bed one morning looking for his shoes. Heart exploded. He was killed by the same problem I am in a process of reversing. Insulin resistance. Caused him to put on a lot of abdominal fat. Wasn’t getting the glucose into his cells. Was stressing himself way too much with a long commute and not enough exercise.

Same problem led to my mother’s premature death also. She fell asleep at the wheel of a car and barreled into a tree. They had to torch the roof off the car and use the jaws of life to extract her body from the wreckage and airlift her to the hospital. She had 47 broken bones at age 72 and they had to put her in a drug induced coma.

She had no injury to her brain due to the air bag and eventually was able to leave the hospital, but never walked again and died 4 years after the accident but would have lived a lot longer and might still be alive if this hadn’t happened.

Made me think. I used to sometimes get so tired driving I’d have to hyperventilate to stay awake. This was caused by insulin resistance, by not getting enough glucose into my brain. Used to make me feel tired all the time.

No more.

Was walking across a parking lot a few days ago when a friend who hadn’t seen me in months struck up a conversation. He noticed right away that I’d lost a ton of weight and that my energy level was a lot higher and that I seemed much happier than usual. Wanted to know what I was doing and I told him.

He wants me to come speak to his AA group which I will do because most alcoholics are hypoglycemic like me and don’t know what that is. Many also have this problem with prediabetes and insulin resistance and can reverse it like I have been so they won’t become diabetic.

There are a lot of supplements that can help lower blood sugar. Chromium is one, another is a new product that Life Extension Foundation sells called CinSulin. It contains iodine, chromium, a specific kind of cinnamon, and a substance derived from kelp seaweed.

I realize everyone’s needs are as distinct as their fingerprints and don’t pretend to have all the answers. I’m still searching for some myself. Sorry if I came off as a “know it all” in my last post. I hope some of this is useful.

Thanks for creating your blog. I am new to Wordpress and can learn things from you. I’m not very good with technical stuff and am hoping to do a lot of things to improve my blog. You are way ahead of me with yours and have a lot more traffic to yours than I do with mine which I just started.

The way I see things is like this- we’re in the midst of an obesity/diabetes epidemic, and the more we can learn from each other and the more we can just try to encourage those around us the better off we’ll all be.

I was on the HCG diet at one time. Went from 246 to 204 in 6 weeks, but when I went off it I started gaining it all back and got back up to 220 before learning this stuff I’ve sense learned about insulin resistance which the Dr. who put me on the HCG diet had never taught me. I think the HCG diet could be ok if a person were simultaneously taught this other stuff too because the HCG diet is really artificial, doesn’t get to the root cause of the problem.

Do you know about it? Human Chorionic Gonadatropin (HCG) is a hormone produced in pregnant women. A Dr. in India wondered why malnourished women who were emaciated were able to give birth to normal weight, plump babies and he figured out that it was the HCG that allowed fat from the mother to migrate to the baby in the womb.

So he started injecting HCG into the abdomens of overweight people while putting them on calorie restricted diets because the HCG facilitates the rapid break down of normally hard to break down abdominal fat.

Since you are burning your own fat very efficiently while on the HCG, you can eat a 500 calorie per day diet without feeling hungry. I was weighing my protein on a gram scale, 200 grams per day and eating huge salads.

On days when I needed some extra protein due to my workouts I cheated, but still jettisoned 40 lbs in 6 weeks, but as soon as I went off this and back to what I had been eating it all started rapidly coming back.

Thats when I learned about insulin resistance, hypoglycemia and the way I’m eating now. The biggest incentive for me to want to get back down to 180 is so I can go surfing again. It was something I once enjoyed a lot. My girlfriend is also motivating me a lot. I’m 53 and hope to live to be over 100 and in good health. The Life Extension Foundation are clients of mine.

Its been scientifically proven that calorie restriction can lead to longevity. We live in an insane society where fast food is in our faces all the time. Its a challenge to learn new ways to do things, but its well worth the effort.

One thing I have going for me is I’ve always marched to the tune of a different drummer, and I’m an outside the box thinker. I’ve never been the sort of person who follows the crowd. I find that this independent trait is helping me right now as I seek a path out of the swamp.

I hope some of this is helpful to anyone who might happen to read it.

John December 21, 2010 at 3:42 pm

TLDR

John Hammell December 21, 2010 at 5:03 pm

What does TLDR stand for?

John Hammell December 21, 2010 at 5:12 pm

Cynthia- I get carbs from the veges I eat, but with my insulin resistant condition I was literally killing myself with carbs and I am sure not alone. There are an awful lot of people in this country walking around with pre-diabetic conditions who don’t even realize it because they’re not using a glucose meter to check their blood sugar.

What I said about carbs breaking down into tryptophan the amino acid precursor to the feel good neurotransmitter serotonin is a scientific fact. People literally get ADDICTED to carbs, and they don’t realize whats going on in their bodies. They crave that good feeling they get from “comfort foods” like sphaghetti and tomato sauce without realizing why they feel so damn TIRED not long after eating these foods.

They get a huge insulin spike not long after eating them and when they have insulin resistance, that glucose is blocked from entering their brain- its deposited as FAT around the mid section.

By getting carbs from veges that huge insulin spike is avoided, and by eating many small high protein snacks such as almonds you get enough glucose into the brain to keep your energy level high while avoiding that roller coaster an insulin resistant person gets on from eating too many carbs.

By the way, your husband is diabetic? Did you know its curable? Mainstream medicine doesn’t realize this but orthomolecular physicians have had the answers for years. You’ll find some articles about this at. Orthomolecular medicine is a suppressed alternative treatment mode.It saved my life 31 years ago after mainstream medicine almost killed me.

John December 21, 2010 at 7:09 pm

Tldr- too long didn’t read, pretty common in forums.

Which gets me to a good point, this isn’t a forum, it’s a comments section of a daily food post. This is johns blog and if he welcomes page long comments more power to him but IMO it’s annoying as hell.

In all seriousness you are preachy with non-mainstream ideas…you remind me of a hardcore religious person trying to convert me.

John Hammell December 21, 2010 at 7:30 pm

“Too preachy”? Look, my life was saved via a non mainstream alternative treatment mode called orthomolecular medicine. This approach to medical treatment saved my life 31 years ago, and it has solutions for diabetes that most people haven’t heard of. I have information about that on my blog and I’ll be damned if I’m going to apologize for telling people about it or for providing any of the other ACCURATE and valuable information I’ve posted here. Minds are like parachutes, they function best when OPEN…. Try opening yours.

If you actually trust mainstream physicians, you haven’t learned from history. The history of science and medicine is replete with numerous very graphic examples of deeply entrenched dogmas backed by powerful economic interests (eg pharmaceutical interests) eventually giving way to the truth.

One notable example is Ignaz Semmelweiss, the first Dr. in the world to realize that disease is spread when doctors don’t wash their hands and when bed sheets aren’t changed on hospital beds. He observed medical students dissecting cadavers then, without washing their hands, they would go across the hall to deliver babies who were dying like flies from childbed fever- he deduced that there was probably some microcscopic bacteria on their hands, ordered doctors to start washing their hands, and ordered bed linens to be changed- his hospital became the safest in all of Europe.

He went to the next medical conference in Vienna expecting to be regarded as a hero for his discovery, instead, he was mocked and reviled. His lectures became increasingly vitriolic attacks on his detractors and his family feared he was going mad. They had him committed to an asylum where he committed suicide after delivering the baby of a fellow inmate he plunged the unclean scalpel into his abdomen and died from the same disease he’d spent years trying to alert the medical profession on how to prevent.

This was his last statement to the world. It takes 40 years for a generation to come and go. 40 years after his death, doctors realized with HORROR that Semmelweiss had been correct all along. A statue in his honor was erected to his honor in his native Budapest (Hungary). Ever since all physicians have washed their hands before and after all surgical procedures.

Big Pharma is suppressing orthomolecular medicine because vitamins, minerals, amino acids, trace elements, probiotics, hormones and herbs are natural, unpatentable substances that cut into the sale of patented Rx drugs.

Drug companies don’t make money when people are healthy. They make money when people are sick and on their drugs. They have a business with disease and wield immense political power. They use the FDA as a trade association to attack the dietary supplement industry as unwanted competition.

Anyone trying to reverse a prediabetic condition can easily do it by following what I’ve been doing, but if they don’t use a glucose meter to monitor their carb intake, they stand a very good chance of not only failing to keep the weight off, but of becoming diabetic. Don’t give me a hard time for going out of my way to provide y0u with valuable information that could save your life, and stop criticizing me for providing people here with valuable information.

Patrick December 21, 2010 at 7:57 pm

Hi John - Nice Blog!

I’d say you rate a 8 or 9 here. Just under 2000 calories is the key as I see it. Sure, high in carbs but I believe calories are calories first when it comes to losing weight and if you can lose weight consuming 2k a day, then you have won the day.

John December 21, 2010 at 8:39 pm

I’ll wait for johnisfits response before I say anymore. There is plenty that I would love to say but it is both offensive and improper in this forum. I have too much respect for John to have a flame war in his comments.

Great day John, it is one you should be proud of.

John Hammell December 22, 2010 at 4:13 am

John- I’m also not looking to engage in a flame war, so we’re of a like mind here. My only interest is in continuing to lose weight, same as you. I don’t pretend to have all the answers, and I value intelligent discussions on all the things I’ve said here.

I don’t think theres anything wrong with the ways in which I’ve played devil’s advocate here about some things. If you have any specific disagreements with any of the things I’ve said, I’m sure you’re capable of reasoned discourse and have the ability to rise above engaging in a flame war which would only serve to raise cortisol levels can cause needless stress, which in turn would make it more likely that either of us might start reaching for the sort of comfort food that would best be avoided in favor of some time working out.

I read your blog, John, and appreciate all the good info you’re sharing through it just as I also appreciate John’s. (Kinda confusing here with all three of us named John, you can call me “Ham” if you want to make it less confusing.—- Cortisol is the death hormone…. we secrete it when our blood pressure is raised, I strive to keep my blood pressure down along with my weight.

Look John, you play hockey, and like playing Defense, I get you man. I played hockey for years when I was younger. When I used to live in Eastport Maine, I used to cross into nearby New Brunswick, Canada to play in an over 25 league. I enjoyed that a lot.

John's Weight Loss Blog December 22, 2010 at 6:28 am

Geez, I only left for a day and look what happened! LOL

Anyway, I appreciate all viewpoints. John H., I appreciate the message you are trying to send, but you should recognize that you will lose a lot of people when it is communicated in what some view as a rant, particularly when you throw out as many different ideas as you have. I think there is no doubt a lot of truth to what you say. I’ve been on a low-carb diet before (Atkins) and lost a ton of weight very quickly. Because I go to the doctor and have my blood checked I know I am prediabetic and moving towards insulin resistance. Using a glucose meter probably wouldn’t be a bad idea. I know I need to lose a lot of weight and I am working on that.

I don’t propose I know how to lose weight. From what I have shown in the last 20 years, I know how to lose the first 3rd of the weight I need to lose, but I must not know how to complete the journey because I haven’t done it.

My intention this time is to lose these 40 pounds that I have as my goal and then reassess my strategies and try something different at that time. What I had been thinking about is that I would shake things up and go with a personal trainer or something like that, but we will see. I know that if I don’t get a handle on impulse eating that I will never be successful, no matter how much natto, salmon jerky or brined almonds I eat. (Actually, that salmon jerky sounds good!)

John H., I would welcome a guest post from you (view guidelines) and we can further any conversation on your ideas on that post or on your blog.

Thanks for the feedback all!

John Hammell December 22, 2010 at 6:01 pm

Using the glucose meter and keeping a food log that includes my glucose readings has been the KEY ingredient in my ongoing weight loss.

When I was on the HCG diet I noticed that I rapidly lost all food cravings once I went off carbs and it became easy to eat just 500 calories a day since the HCG that I injected into my abdomen with an insulin syringe facilitated the more rapid break down of that normally very tenacious hard to break down abdominal fat, so although I was eating just 500 cals per day (except for those odd times when I’d add some extra protein due to strenuous swim workouts), I wasn’t hungry because I was burning my own fat very efficiently. Thats how I was able to go from 246 to 204 in just 6 weeks, **BUT** I quickly started gaining it BACK as soon as I went off the HCG and started eating what I had been before and the REASON I started gaining it all back was that I had never learned what I now know about insulin resistance, hypoglycemia, and prediabetes.

I had to overcome an initial phobia about sticking myself with the lancet to draw blood for the glucose meter test strips, but once I got the hang of it and could see how easy and painless it actually is that part of it was no problem!

What I really like about it is that any time I cheat, any time I have that odd candy bar or other high glycemic thing I SEE it reflected in my blood sugar, so that helps me AVOID more bad stuff or not eat it as often! The PAYOFF is being able to ditch old pants and buy new ones that fit right and making holes in my belt as my waist shrinks!

The OTHER big payoff is just the sheer amount of new ENERGY I feel from my new routine which includes an hour of walking every morning before breakfast after having my coconut oil and cod liver oil to produce thermogenesis (raising of body core temperature to initiate fat burning) before my first meal of the day.

I had a personal trainer once and that DID help me lose weight, but again, I didn’t keep it off after I stopped seeing him because I hadn’t yet learned this stuff and wasn’t using the meter.

I feel powerfully motivated to get down to 180 because thats what I weighed back in the early 90s when I lived in Chula Visa CA and used to surf a lot in So Cal and Mexico. I really miss that! Its worth it to me to do this stuff just to be able to enjoy it again even though I’ll have to wear a full wetsuit with hood and booties because now I’ll be surfing on the west coast of Vancouver Island British Columbia (around Tofino) where the water is 50 degrees (crazy fools actually surf in the snow there!)

My girlfriend has been encouraging me a lot. She’s 13 years younger than me and wants kids. If I am to handle the rigors of raising kids at my age (53) I damn well better lose the weight and keep it off!

The KEY to stopping impulse eating is to understand what CAUSES IT: Its caused by your addiction to SEROTONIN the “feel good” neurotransmitter that is built from the amino acid tryptophan that you’re getting from all the CARBS. You’re a DRUG ADDICT man, you GOT to have your FIX of Serotonin!

A BETTER way is to take a tryptophan supplement before going to sleep, then you won’t crave CARBS so much in the morning, or throughout the day, and you can ALWAYS pop a tryptophan capsule any time you have a particularly intense food craving during the day- you’ll get the SAME feeling of satiety that you would if you had eaten some bad comfort food like a plate of spaghetti or a candy bar, but with ZERO calories!

If you’re insulin resistant, you’ll crave carbs to get that temporary GOOD FEELING from the serotonin, then you’ll BONK, you’ll CRASH and feel TIRED, then, unless you break the vicious circle by eating several small high protein snacks you’ll KEEP reaching for carbs!

To get off the Merry Go Round get that free glucose meter and log everything. You’ll quickly learn how anything you eat impacts your blood sugar. You’ll notice how supplements like Chromium and CinSulin can help PROTECT you. If you try a supplement like Life Extension Foundation’s Mitochondria Optimizer you’ll notice an increased energy level and can log that too!

BOTTOM LINE: Once you get off that CARB merry go round and can see how the stuff you jam down yer pie hole impacts your blood sugar you’ll see just what you have to do to STOP the food cravings and THEN you’ll start feeling GREAT very FAST because the pounds will FINALLY start melting off and your energy level will SKYROCKET along with your cognition!

To make the salmon jerky or moose jerky I make, get Sally Fallon’s cookbook “Nourishing Traditions”. She is the Pres of the Weston Price Foundation which is worth joining because of all you can learn from them about whole foods. Joining and reading their publication would definitly help anyone eat healthier because you can learn so much from it.

I watched that documentary “Super Size Me” about that guy who gorged for a year on McDonalds and wish he’d included some of this info in his film which I really liked a lot otherwise. His message was quite sobering. It makes me feel GREAT that I’ve reversed my prediabetic condition, and I know what I have to do to KEEP going in this good direction! When I get to 180 or 185 I know that THIS TIME I’ll be able to STAY THERE even though I’m getting older. Using that Glucose Meter is KEY.

John Hammell December 25, 2010 at 9:19 pm

We’re going to have the mother of all economic collapses in the coming year due to the fallout from the QE2 Stimulus. They can’t print 1.7 Trillion bucks without triggering massive hyperinflation. Expect to see the price of food jacked up to levels the likes of which you’ve never seen. Where I live we’re already organizing for self protection. We’re going to be expanding the size of our already large community garden and we’ll be growing a lot of seedlings in different greenhouses including mine.

We’re showing a couple of films at a community meeting we have scheduled for mid January- 1. “Meet John Doe” - from 1941 starring Gary Cooper…. has a true Christmas message and its about people pulling together in hard times….2. Glenn Beck’s programs from Wilmington OH where 70% of the people became unemployed when DHL shipping pulled out.

The people there have been organizing rotating pot luck dinners at each other’s houses so no one will go hungry, they’ve been helping each other start businesses and organizing prayer/planning sessions- as a community they’ve pulled themselves up by their bootstraps with zero help from our worthless government.

A lot of people are going to get some “help” with their dieting courtesy of the Federal Reserve in the coming year as our country is intentionally dismantled by the CFR and Bilderberg Group which are forcing us into a North American Union collectivist dictatorship modeled after the EU which is a collectivist dictatorship…..See this alert I sent out to my email distribution list of thousands of people world wide- you can watch “Meet John Doe” and the Glenn Beck stuff from Wilmington at links from:

Okay this has to be a joke. After being told you need to know the difference between a forum and a comments section, you post a huge offtopic comment. If I was johnisfit I would ban you comments. You seriously need to read blogging for dummies. If this is not a joke it is just super sad.

John's Weight Loss Blog December 26, 2010 at 7:28 am

Mr. Hammell, John is right, this out of the blue off-topic comment has no place here, particularly after there had already been some discussion about how your comments could be construed as rants that could turn people off. I originally gave you some slack because I thought there was a possibility you were genuinely interested in helping, but now I don’t know. I see now that your mission by simply be to spew a political agenda.

I welcome opposing views on by blog, but please keep it on topic and tone it down. I’ve been very generous in the interest of the Christmas season to keep your links in your comments, but my patience is getting thin.

I hope you and everyone had a great Christmas week. I’m going to be writing up a post about another loss!

John Hammell December 26, 2010 at 6:27 pm

My post WAS on topic, unfortunately. Too bad you lack the discernment and grey matter to grasp the truth of it. Guess you’ll just have to learn the hard way when you’re unprepared for whats coming in the coming year. Go ahead and delete all my posts if you want. I really don’t give a shit what you do.

John's Weight Loss Blog December 26, 2010 at 7:52 pm

Merry Christmas Mr. Hammell! :-)

John December 28, 2010 at 2:18 am

I heard grey matter is fattening.
