SparkPeople - With more than nine million members, SparkPeople is undoubtedly one of the most popular weight loss and fitness communities on the web. SparkPeople offers dozens of free tools and features, including free diet and fitness plans, food journals, activity trackers, calorie counters, recipes, message boards, newsletters, and support teams.

DailyBurn - DailyBurn combines diet and fitness tracking with social networking. You can team up with online accountability partners and connect with like-minded individuals through fitness groups. DailyBurn also offers the chance to compete in site-wide challenges based on weight loss, running, biking, weight lifting, and more.

Traineo - More than 200,000 people use this weight loss community to set goals, track weight loss data, and give and get support. Traineo features include motivation tips, diet and nutrition tips, training routines, and a before and after gallery.

PEERtrainer - PEERtrainer is a free weight loss and fitness support system. Site features include daily motivational tips, food and fitness logs, calorie counters, and blogs. You can also join small groups that will help keep you accountable.

FitDay - After your enter daily foods and exercise data, FitDay will analyze your information and provide you with a report detailing daily calorie counts, protein and fat counts, accumulated weight loss, and a long term diet analysis. You can also use the site to read success stories and connect with others in the discussion forums.

FitLink - This online fitness community offers tools to help you get in shape and communicate with like-minded individuals. FitLink tools include a work out journal, activity planners, running and cycling routes, fitness articles, and information on local events.

Calorie Count - This About.com site is part diet system, part online community. It offers calorie count information for nearly every type of food imaginable, recipes, exercise plans, weight loss tools and advice, and a supportive community of fitness buffs.

TheMOV - TheMOV is a non-profit, open-source community dedicated to educating people about health and fitness. The site has more than 150,000 members who share information about the mind, body, and soul.

FitMarker - FitMarker is a Digg-like site for fitness-oriented people. This social bookmarking community makes it easy to share and discover fitness and weight loss articles and sites around the web.

The Biggest Loser Message Boards - The Biggest Loser Message Boards provide a place for people to discuss the show and personal weight loss goals. Message board topics include diet and nutrition, exercise, fitness equipment, and general health.
