- Diet starting weight: 304
- Week starting weight: 296
- Today’s weight: 295
- Week weight loss: 1 lb
- Total weight lost: 9 lbs
This is my fourth weekly loss in a row in my Countdown to Vegas challenge. If you look at my weight loss chart you will see I’ve broken the upward trendline, which certainly is good to see. 295 pounds is where I was at when I first started this blog, so it is really good to see that weight again considering the gaining I have done the last couple of years. To be honest, the scale this morning said 295.8 but I always just truncate the decimal points to make it easy, so it’s 295 in my book.
Normally I wouldn’t be very excited about a 1 pound loss (although I do think momentum is good no matter how small) but this week I am thrilled with the loss since I was out of town in Atlanta for most of the week. I love me some southern food and I had my chance to eat plenty of it. As it turns out I ended up eating more greek food than southern food, but I did get one meal of catfish, ribs, chicken, black eyed peas, collard greens, biscuits and peach cobbler.
I normally find it very challenging to be good while out of town and while I wasn’t perfect (stupid Chinese delivery) I did for the most part make good choices all week.
Things I did well this week:
- Repeated my mantra “Vegas, baby, Vegas” numerous times every day, which helped keep me focused on making better decisions.
- Drank a lot of water every day
- NO FAST FOOD!
Things I did not so well this week:
- Need to be more active with exercise - should be sweating every day.
- One major binge in the hotel: Chinese delivery. I couldn’t decide what I wanted so ordered a variety. And ate it all.
I sometimes find myself slipping a little on my eating on Sundays, especially after I post my update post. It’s sort of an excuse to catch up on some eating or something. But not today, I had a protein shake for breakfast and I plan to eat well throughout the day to make sure I kick the week off well. I’m not doing any traveling this week and should have no excuses for not kicking butt on my eating. Exercise will be harder with my treadmill broken and it being subzero temperatures outside, but I plan to make an improved effort there as well. I would really like to see a 2 pound loss this week.
Four weeks, four losses - a promising start to my goal of losing 40 pounds by June 30th, 2011.
