Well this has certainly been a bit of an up and down day.
I started the day off with 30 minutes of lower body strength training, which felt great. I’m shooting for 6 days of weights this week.
I had to get a blood test* at the doctor and my blood pressure came in at 118/74, which puts me right in the normal range. Historically it’s been around 120/80 although the last time I was in it was 140 something, and I was worried that was not an anomaly. Who knows, maybe today’s was. In any case, I was happy to see those numbers.
*the results of which will either be nothing, in which case I won’t mention it again, or something, in which case I’ll probably find a topic for a whole ‘nother blog. I’m hoping it’s the former, but there are some silver linings in the latter.
Then tonight I was all gung-ho to put some time in on my treadmill, I installed the Couch to 5K app on my G2 (I had bought it on my G1 and hadn’t installed it on my new phone yet), and got about 8 minutes into the program when the treadmill died. Interestingly enough, this happened a day after I wrote that I was considering getting a new treadmill. That just may have to be accelerated. Pro Form? Horizon? Vision? Life Fitness? Anyone want to sponsor me with a new treadmill? I’d love to see a bidding war.
So enough about that, how did I do eating today?

Breakfast was oatmeal with pomegranate seeds, a banana, 8 oz of spicy hot V8, and a slice of toast with peanut butter. Lunch was a bento box with a chilled chicken breast (6oz pre-cooked weight) on top of a bed of herb greens, a small portion of pomegrant salad dressing, a kholrabi, grapes, mandarin oranges and a yogurt. Dinner was a chopped salad with herb greens, baby carrots, a tomato, an avocado, 2 mini portobello mushrooms, a baby cucumber, half an orange bell pepper, half a small fennel bulb, salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar. A small sloppy joe, a side of peas and some puiffed rice cake crackers. More v8. Snack tonight I had a Kind fruit bar.
I’m betting you’ll hate the sloppy joe.
