Healthy Weight Loss Losing weight is an escalating concern in our society. With the addition of numerous weight loss supplements, diet pills, and prepared meals, it all leaves a person wondering exactly the right way to lose weight. Usually all these things are short term and are only there for your money. Either that, or they only work for a short while and you end up gaining the weight back. If you want to lose weight, the healthy way, then follow these fitness tips for a healthy weight loss.

There is no magic way

Sometimes certain methods of losing weight simply do not work. Eliminating entire food groups from your diet will definitely leave you feeling deprived, sick, and unhealthy. You will want to follow a diet that allows moderation of certain foods (fats, calories, sugar). Following a diet may even help you to lose a few pounds, until your body adjusts to the new change. Adding exercise in addition to your diet will help you to lose more weight.

Weight loss = lifestyle changes

If you want to lose weight, keep the weight off, and remain like that for the rest of your life, you have to realize and understand a few weight loss tips. First and foremost, in order to maintain weight loss, you will have to create a specific, long-lasting lifestyle change. This means finding the right diet for you, adding in your own personalized exercise program, and sticking with it for the long haul. You will be making a commitment to lose weight, for a new healthier life.

Creating your own diet and exercising plan will be difficult and stressful. All it really takes is a bit of experimentation. That means that you will not lose weight quickly. It is important to remember that losing pounds fast is very unhealthy. When you lose a lot of weight in a short period of time, you are actually losing water and muscle. This will leave you feeling groggy and probably sick.

The best method to lose weight is to take it deliberately, steady, and slow. Why rush it? A good rule of thumb is about 2 pounds a week. Finding the right diet for you may take a bit of trial and error, or even may require a professional nutritionist. It is important to remember that you want to make a diet that you can easily continue with for the rest of your life.

Exercise and fitness

Exercising is simply the physical act of burning calories. It doesn't really matter what you are doing, as long as it requires movement for a period of time. Riding your bike is an excellent way to burn calories. It's important to remember that you also want to balance the amount of exercise with the amount of food intake. That means you want to sustain your energy, as strenuous physical activity requires more energy in order to sustain. You will burn fatty, unhealthy calories, and gain muscle. Remember to drink a lot of water, as your body is mostly water anyway.

Steady wins the race!

The most important aspect is to do whatever makes you comfortable, as it is for the long run. That is the only way to maintain a healthy weight and diet. Find your own diet, and the method of exercising that you can comfortably do every day. Slowly make the transition from your current diet to your new diet, as well as starting your work out routine slow and building up to it. You have to learn to walk before you can run! At the end of the day, you are the only one who can decide what is right for you, and you are definitely the only person who can do it.

Hi John,
I really enjoyed your article, and have book marked it on my delicious, mr wong, stumble accounts.

The article is simple and to the point and offers some useful attitudes to effective weight loss. And as we all know, attitude is such an important part of the mix. It’s true that losing weight too quickly can be unhealthy, and that real lasting weight loss needs to involve a lifestyle change for the long term.

That’s why you’re so right about the need to find a diet and exercise program that works well for the individual.

In my 5 years as a personal trainer I’ve realised there definitely no one size fits all solution. The key is to try a variety of programs and systems and see which is the best fit for your metabolism, fitness level, dietary habits, financial situation etc. It can be so easy when you find the right diet.
I’d also suggest that the same rule applies to weight loss products and supplements. Some will be more suited to a particular type of person.

You might be interested in having a look at our site, where we have designed a package of program samples and free weight loss supplement trials to help people get results and see what works best for them, without spending any money.

Thanks again for this piece John! I’ve also sent you a message about guest authoring for your blog some time too! Look forward to hearing from you.
Suz
