Rate My Meals - 2010-03-06b

March 7, 2010

I mistakenly titled yesterday’s Rate My Meals post as being from March 6th when in fact it was from March 5th, so that means today’s post, which is about yesterday’s meals, now would be a duplicate if I didn’t change it. So I added a little “b” to the end. Creative, eh? Us bloggers know all the tricks.

Missing from the pictures from yesterday were 3 Twizzlers and a handful of Reeses’s Pieces I got from my wife and daughter as we watched Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. No popcorn for me and just a diet coke with a splash of cherry coke, so I did pretty good at the movie.

Poached Eggs Curry Soup Big Salad

Yesterday I wrote that I had been eating a lot of oatmeal and that was better than having eggs Benedict every morning so of course that put me in the mood for eggs Benedict! I’ve got a million versions of the dish so obviously this isn’t the traditional one, but I thought it was pretty tasty. Two perfectly poached eggs*, two slices of dry english muffin toast, a couple of thin slices of deli ham and a couple of thick slices of fried tomatoes, done with just a little butter, salt and pepper. Topped with Sriracha for a little kick. Served with yogurt and a banana.

*Did you know that the secret to perfectly shaped poached eggs (I mean just look at those beauties!) is white vinegar? I kid you not. Put a couple of chugs into your boiling water, give it a nice stir to create a vortex and drop your eggs in. All you have to do is pull them out at the right time and they’ll be shaped very, very nice. At least in my opinion. Your milage may vary.

Lunch was at Noodles where I had a regular bowl of Thai Curry Soup with no noodles and a grilled chicken breast on the side. More sriracha. Love that stuff.

Dinner was a big salad with fresh baby herb greens, an avocado, a cucumber, an orange pepper, 3 baby portobello mushrooms, 3 radishes, half a fennel bulb, salt, pepper and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Served with 8 Triscuit crackers.

Love when we have fresh veggies around the house - I need to get out grocery shopping today to get stocked up for the week.

So how do you think I did? Click a star!
