Mixed bag today, again a lot having to do with the fact I don’t feel well. I blame my boss for coming home from vacation sick and not staying away from work! I was fairly active today at least as per my normal standard as of late - both my kids had soccer practice and during my daughter’s practice my son and I kicked the ball around quite a bit.

You aren’t used to seeing such a crappy breakfast from me lately - read on for why:

Salad and Whey Protein Shake

My daughter had soccer practice from 7:45am - 9:00am and after that was done we met up with my wife who was volunteering at a local restaurant serving a pancake breakfast to raise money for school. This restaurant doesn’t normally serve breakfast so they charge the school $2 per plate that they cook and the school in turn charges the customers $6. Nice way to raise money. Once we sat down my wife joined us for breakfast, which wasn’t the choice I thought it might be - next thing I knew we all had plates of 3 small pancakes and a couple of sausage links in front of us. Apparently they were going to offer eggs too but through some snafu there were no eggs. Before I could even think what I was doing I had put on some butter and syrup. That’s when I remembered I was supposed to be on a diet and taking pictures of my food. Well the good news is the pancakes were small anyway.

For lunch I made a whey protein shake since my throat was sore. This one was made up of a half cup of blueberries, a cup of large frozen cherries, a cup of skim milk, some ice and a scoop of whey protein. I need bigger glasses!

Dinner was a big salad with chopped romaine, a cucumber, half a fennel bulb, bunch of baby carrots, a few baby portabello mushrooms, some olives and some pickles. I dressed it with just a little bit of poppyseed dressing. Very tasty. I did have 3 girl scout cookies that I didn’t take a picture of.

Not enough water considering I was sick - trying to do better today.

So how do you think I did? Click a star!
