mmmm....

I love bagels and peanut butter.

And instant oatmeal is seriously underrated.

Now it's time for a midnight snack!

I know many people who always eat half a meal and box the second half. I usually flop when I try that, too.

If I'm going to eat half a portion I have to box it at the beginning of the meal or it just doesn't happen!

@seth When I started taking these pictures I did also record my calories, which I was able to do for a few days but then I fell off doing it. It's so hard for me, particularly when you add things like the store bought meatloaf and the calamari salad. I did my best running this day through the DailyPlate just now and it added up to about 2,000 calories which is actually a little lower than I think I should be eating at my current weight. Still, I think portion sizes could have been cut down. I easily could have split that half pound of calamari salad into two meals, I would have been fine with one less slice of meatloaf, etc. Then add a few more healthy snacks during the day.

As for the lovely avocado, that sounds like it would make for a good article that I should write sometime. But basically, it's super easy and you can be as simple or complex as you want. For my money there isn't much better than an avocado sprinkled with a little coarse salt. Cut the avacado in half, remove the pit (chop down on the pit with your blade so that it sticks in along the edge of your blade and then twist the blade to remove the pit - easy), sprinkle with salt and after the salt melts just eat it with a spoon. Once you get comfortable with that you can remove the "meat" whole with a spoon and then slice up in attractive slices. Or mash it up and use as a shmeer for toasts. Or make guacamole. A billion things you can do, but I'd start with just eating it with a spoon.

I can't say that I've tried all of those things but you do have a knack at taking pictures of food! Looked pretty good today to me. I was wondering if you had a calorie count on what you eat. Sometimes I wonder if you are eating enough. I feel that we are being so critical on everything you eat -- but I guess that's why you are doing it like this.

This is off topic but how do you prepare an avocado to eat. They are kind of intimidating to me but i bought one and didn't try it because I didn't want to eat it raw. I guess that's like your purple kale.

Let me know.
