So the good news is that over the last couple of days I have still been very consistent about taking photos of everything I have eaten, even when out to lunch with colleagues. So I’m going to say that is a good sign. What isn’t a good sign is that I know I really have eaten too much and not as healthy as I should have over the last couple of days as well. Earlier in the week when I was in a hotel with a kitchenette I was able to stock up at the grocery store and most of what I bought was fresh fruit and vegetables. Over the last couple of days I’ve been back at home with a refrigerator and pantry that isn’t as well stocked with the fresh things as it should be - we simply haven’t taken the time to go grocery shopping and the result has been when I have eaten at home the meals haven’t been great, and I tend to have more of a propensity for eating out.
Anyway, on to the damage:

Breakfast on Wednesday was a a breakfast sandwich made at home - a soft bagel, 2 fried eggs and a couple of slices of deli ham. Served with an orange and a yogurt. The last yogurt in the frig! I did not bring a snack to work so nothing in the morning or afternoon. Lunch was a salad with chicken and a bowl of split pea soup. The soup was yummy but pretty salty. I probably could have done with just the salad but I find myself often adding soup to meals. This is a habit I need to break. For dinner I had a really bad meal - a couple of slices of leftover pizza (from my kids), a ham and cheese sandwich on white bread and a couple of pickles.
Thursday started off with another breakfast sandwich, this time 2 fried eggs and a slice of cheese and white bread, with a sliced avocado (the last one left) and an orange. Lunch was at a hole-in-the-wall Mexican place a co-worker took me to (well, I paid) and I had a small portion of the nachos appetizer and a mostly healthy chicken and rice burrito. At least healthy compared to the smothered burrito he got. Mine looked healthier, anyway and it was nice getting a taste different than Chipotle. Driving home my wife had me stop at a local Vietnamese restaurant where I ended up getting Kung Pao Chicken over white rice and a fried egg roll. I really should have ordered a couple of their fresh spring rolls instead.
Not the best of days but like I said, I’m sticking with the theme so I think that’s good.
So how do you think I did? Click a star!
