Rate my Meals - 2010-02-15

For those of you paying attention you know I didn’t record my meals from this weekend. I didn’t really do that bad, in fact I think I did particularly well, but it just didn’t work out to record everything. I did take the family out for Valentine’s Day brunch and I did ok - one of the keys is to use a small plate. A little nibble here and there and I know it added up to too much but not terribly so - and it lasted me until dinner, which was a healthy one similar to what I had tonight - a lettuce wrap and a plate full of veggies.

I’m on the road in a hotel for a couple of days and it happens to be a room with a small kitchen, including a refrigerator. So I went to a grocery store last night and stocked up for a couple of dinners and breakfasts so that I could eat healthy, not to mention saving some money for my company.

The think about eating a lot of veggies is I feel fuller than I have for awhile but overall I think I ate pretty well:

Daily Food

Breakfast was a bowl of instant Quaker oatmeal, Raisin, Date and Walnut flavor. I added a bunch of blueberries and had a banana and a yogurt as well. Later in the morning I had a banana for a snack.

For lunch I had a 12″ turkey sub at Subway - just mustard, vinegar, lettuce, tomato, black olives, jalapenos, salt and pepper. Side of apples instead of the chips.

Snack was late, after I got back to the hotel from work. Small plate of carrots, tomatoes and radishes along with a few fake crab legs.

Tonight I went to see Avatar 3D, probably the last person in the country to do so. Only drank a diet soda at the theatre. Then when I got back to the room I made a lettuce wrap with a little turkey, a slice of provolone, cucumbers, radishes, carrots, avocado and tomatoes along with a yogurt for dessert.

Definitely did not drink enough water - I’ve got to do better there.

So how do you think I did? Click a star!

Very nicely done!

BTW - Great job at the movies, too. I saw Avatar 3D two weeks ago. In my opinion, it was the most “tasteful” use of 3D technology yet.

Thanks Greg. I’m not a fan of 3D but wanted to see if Avatar was different. The technology is pretty amazing, the little thing they do at the beginning showing the technology logo was amazing how clear and right in front of me it was. But there is a big difference in having the technology that makes you feel like things are right in front of you and actually having that make sense in a movie. I didn’t think 3D added anything to the experience of this movie. I wasn’t blown away but I am glad I went. Just glad I was able to do it without the popcorn!

Thank you for recording your meals. It’s nice to know what we are supposed to be eating or at least some new ideas. It looks like a lot of food. We hit Subway for V-day. lol

I am a lot happier with this day of eating. You had vegetables, meat, and fruits. You had protein, fiber, quality carbs. Good day.

Also, come see my giveaway — it doesn’t amount to your giveaways but I’m going to hit my 100 mile marker for the year and want to do something for the occasion!!!!
