Thinking About Vacation

October 10, 2008

It’s going to be a little strange taking a vacation next week.  It seems like we don’t normally take vacations at this time of year.  Still, I am very much looking forward to it.  I hope I will be able to properly relax despite the meltdown in the economy.

It’s hard to admit, but I guess summer is finally over.  We officially closed the pool today although we haven’t had the heat on (so have not used it) for a few weeks.  Like a lot of things in my weight loss journey I wasn’t happy with the amount of swimming I did this year for exercise.  That is something I really want to try to improve on next year.  I really like swimming for exercise, but the one thing I noticed was that aftwerwards I would get SO hungry.  I guess that is a good sign - except for that I would give in to my urge to eat.

Soccer season ends tomorrow with two games to coach.  My knees are still really sore after yesterday’s scrimmage.  Bumpy field, old cleats, and a lumbering coach are not a good combination and my knees are paying the price.  I don’t think I did any actual damage, however.

One of the things I am trying to do is to get together some guest posts for publication while I am on vacation.  I’ve only got one in the hopper right now - if you are interested in submitting a guest post please check my guest post guidelines for more information.  It’s a great chance for you to get a little free publicity!

My goal is to write a post each day between now and next Tuesday, and then have automated posts from Wednesday through Sunday.  I can’t achieve my weight loss goals so maybe I can achieve some blogging goals!
