Losing weight sucks. I wish there were some kind magic to it. I've been stuck in about the same place for close to nine months now. It I were pregnant, I'd be giving birth soon. Anyway, I'm trying hard not to give up. Don't you give up either.

You are right John. Losing weight is hard but I felt that keeping it off is even harder. Think we got to keep on encouraging people around us that we can do it to achieve our optimum weight.

Well, sounds like you know mentally what you have to do - the trick is getting it done.

But still, three pounds with an admittedly mediocre effort? That's not too bad!

You need to be proud of what you lost. Also, there is a mental phenomenon that when you are accountable to someone or something, you make more efforts and there is improvement. I think it would be a good idea to sit down on Sunday night and plan all your workout programs for the week. By this I mean you need to set aside a specific time every day to do your weight training and cardio. You can do it!

stick with it you have done really good so far... I will tell you when I first began my weight loss( and I still have a long way to go) I started off first by eliminating one thing that was bad from my diet... my first elimination was white bread replaced with 100%whole wheat bread... then I eliminated sodas and started drinking water and for flavor added those low calorie mix drinks like crystal light or the store name brand... and then for lunch I would have a boiled egg, low fat yogurt and fruit instead of a hamburger and french fries and I also started using skim milk instead of whole milk. Each week at the begining of my diet I would eliminate one thing from my diet and eventually I got used to eating better ... just making better choices. I think that will help you mentally! And you need to be VERY PROUD of those 3 POUNDS LOST!!!!

It's very hard, especially when the progress stalls somewhat.

I think checking in here a bit more regularly might help?

You're right, losing weight *is* hard. I'm really struggling with the mental side of it myself.

Lately, I've decided to stay off the scale for a while. I had been exercising regularly but still seeing no progress on the scale and that was bringing me down. I don't know what I weigh right now, but I know that I feel better and I feel lighter...hopefully it will prove to be true when I weigh in again next week. Best of luck to you as always.
