Start to the Week – Goals Edition
No excuses but I neglected to post an update on Sunday but I have updated the graphs since I did weigh-in on Sunday. Flatline is not what I want but it's better than going up. I'm going to work hard this week to lose at least a couple of pounds and keep up the good progress. Last week was a bit of a lost week – no exercise including Week 5 of the Hundred Pushups challenge which I "qualified" for beginning of last week – although I'm in column one.
I really noticed how not having specific goals for the week effected my performance. So,
Goals for the week:
Attempt to complete Week Five of the Hundred Pushups Challenge. It looks tough.
Run 10+ miles.
Replace 3 different meals with whey protein shakes.
Lose 2 pounds.
Yes I know the last one is a results goal and not an action goal, but having that goal will drive my adhesion to the plan.
I did my 4.1 mile loop yesterday in a record (for me) time of 59:59. Had to sprint the last 2 steps to make it under 60 minutes.
As you can see, I am really on a barnburner pace.

I have a 3.8 mile jog I do in the mornings. This past Monday, it took me 53 minutes. So we're pretty close to the same pace. And that was with me kissing the concrete five minutes into the run (first time for me since I started about 2 months ago and it most likely will not be the last).

Way to go… traveling and not gaining! I don't care how well we plan, it's tough to be away from home and not ,gain, so flatlining on the weight graph is okay by me.
Good luck with your goals this week!

Hi John, it's good that you set weekly goals, anything that might trigger you mind to achieve an objective is positive. Right now I don't have any but I just started but I can see in a few months that I will do the same.

I like your website. It looks like we have many of the same goals. Week 5 of 100pushups – not there yet.
W4D1 is killer enough.
Replacing 3 meals with shakes. That's tough.
I may have to try that.
The running gets easier..and more enjoyable!

I've never been a goal setter, but like you I've discovered they really help to keep me on track. Thanks for the reminder, and thank you for the inspirational posts! We are on the same path!
Many Blessings,
Shelley
