John is Fit Now Accepts Guest Posts

August 2, 2008 · 3 comments

I finally got around to establishing some guidelines for guest posts and will start accepting submissions now. Guest posts are a good way for me to give you different points of view than what you normally get from me and a great opportunity for the guest poster to get some exposure to their blog, product or service.

Please see my Guest Post Guidelines page for more information and a submission form.

I think I’ll give it a try. Expect to hear from me. I rarely tell my story. I’m on the path of recovery still. I more usually write of the pursuits of love and the consequent grief at its loss and the struggle for spiritual reconciliation. Perhaps I am missing an opportunity to connect with a different audience.

There is such judgment of those of us that are “large” . . .The support systems available so hard to access and often unaffordable to many of us.

I lost 45% of my body mass in just a little over a year through diet and exercise. I dropped from a size Womens 22 down to a Misses 4 (that’s a Juniors 7 and a huge deal!). I’m middle aged, 5’4” and weigh around 150 pounds most days. According to my BMI, I still have at least another 5 pounds to be within the proper range for my height and probably more like 10 to 15 for my age, frame and muscle mass.

As I write this, I am post surgical for a correction on some cosmetic surgery I had done last March. Something you don’t think about when you are literally working your ass off. As you get older or if you carried the weight for a long time . . . You can end up with more skin than your body can accommodate.

Is getting the matter dealt with purely vanity? I’m still working on the answer to that one. Is it a subject you would consider for posting here?

By the way, this is a great site. You are doing a marvelous job.

Miss D
