Try and get some exercise in even if its just some light resistence training in the hotel room. When i'm away i usually get a lot of walking in as i want to see the town i am visiting, so a little resistence training does the trick. Its great when the hotel has a gym and pool.

I hope you're having fun in Vegas! I admit I am jealous. If I were you I would concentrate on having fun and not worry about dieting/exercising ... but that's just me.

Great idea - that's what I did!

I know its hard but you should try and squeeze a half hour or hour walk in to break up your day at Vegas. Is such a crazy town is worth the walk anyway just to see everything going on around you.

I didn't do this formally, but the fact is when in Vegas you do a lot of walking, particularly if you are walking around Caesar's Palace like I was most of the time. That place is huge!

I must say that story did make me giggle! What an odd thing to say to a customer.

Enjoy Vegas! You only live once and even though i am on a weight loss journey myself I feel that holidays are for doing the things you enjoy the most and if playing poker for 20 hours is what turns you on then go for it!

In regards to buffetts I have always asked the staff for a side plate, that way you can't have as huge a portion. You can still pile it high but on a smaller scale. Not a massive healthy tip but at least your saving a few calories!

Enjoy
Michaela x

I don't think that strategy would work for me because it is too easy to just get another plate, and then another. But in general it is true that using smaller plates is better.

A trip to Vegas is always fun (my wife's family lives nearby so I'm almost homesick thinking about it). Call me crazy, but I actually think Vegas might be a great place to get a workout...especially with all of those elevated walkways and stairs...up and down, up and down. Granted, there's a million people to dodge and it'll probably be over 100 degrees during the day, but that factor, plus the sheer size of all the hotel/casinos and the distance you have to make up just from your table to your room will make you work up a sweat! You'll find a way to work it into your schedule, I'm sure...hope you win big!

I saw a lot of people out for early morning jogs. I could see doing that before it got too hot, and even then there is something to be said for getting a good sweat, even if you do have to dodge the drunks.

How about NOT spending 20 hours straight at the poker tables and going for a 15 - 20 minute jog round the outside of the casino in between games?

Oh yeah I know it's *sooooooo* easy to dish out advice and not always so easy to fit things in in real life, but just an idea.

Best wishes,
Sharon

That does make sense, and yet I don't think I want to do that on vacation!
