Weekly Update - 3/23/2008

March 23, 2008 · 7 comments

  • Diet starting weight: 295
  • Week starting weight: 268
  • Today’s weight: 268
  • Week weight loss: 0 lbs
  • Total weight lost: 27 lbs

I started the week off well but could not sustain it. But I’m OK with it. I wish I had lost weight but I know I didn’t deserve to with the effort I put in. I’m really focusing on effort this week, then I’ll be gone over Spring Break skiing in Telluride, where I hope I will come back thinner with all that exercise.
Things I did well this week:

  • Did a couple days of cardio, which is a couple of days less than I would like but a lot more than I had been doing.
  • Got back into weight loss blogging.

Things I did not so well this week:

  • Needed to do more cardio
  • Needed to do more strength training
  • I haven’t been focusing on the water drinking lately, I need to get back into that.
  • I grazed on far too many sweets - jelly beans, Girl Scout cookies, you name it.

All you can do is get off the mat and keep on fighting, and that is what I am going to do. We are driving out to Colorado and leave on Friday afternoon so I am probably going to post an update Friday morning so I know where I was at pre- and post-trip.

Girl Scouts are the devil’s servants and those cookies the Great Temptation… especially the Thin Mints, which are responsible for DECADES of ruined diets.

Good on you for getting back into it. I have been struggling of late too and am making a big attempt to get back into ot too. Good luck with your next weigh in.

Just don’t overeat while you’re skiing…………………..:)

From the sound of it, you’re on the right path. Keep up the good work.

Okay, so now you know you can maintain. :) Seriously, John, you’re on a good track. Everything will come together again soon, but in the meantime, you do what you can. That’s what it’s all about in a nutshell.

Have a great vacation!

Those adorable little girl scouts get me every time outside the grocery store. They are so cute and they hop with excitement when they ask you to buy. But I was able to resist last time.

My husband has given up sweets and I gave up wine (our weaknesses) and we’ve lost 22 pounds between us.

I’m going to keep checking back here for inspiration to continue! Thanks!

It’s just a blip. Carry on. The skiing should help if you can avoid overeating at the lodge, LOL!

Truly though, that’s good exercise and probably different from your daily exercise grind, which means it will challenge your body differently and burn more cals.

I’ve had more trouble lately with the water too… so it’s back on the high priority “just do it” list.
