Great story, thanks for sharing! That's the first I have heard about a blood type effecting what you are predisposed to eat, but I have to agree that eating more protein, less carbs, lots of water and all prepared at home is a real good plan! And to top it all of with a job that requires moving around. Perfect plan!

Wow, you sure have a lot of information here! I haven't read your entire blog just yet, but getting there.

I myself, was nearing 250 pounds - now about 177 - lost weight over the course of about 8 months. I suppose everyone is different, especially as far as blood type and so on. I mention this because it's a somewhat overlooked factor in today's weight-loss thinking circles.

For example, I am of the somewhat quasi-rare (past couple of generations it's been increasing) blood type of O+.... this is the Native American blood type. NAs are of other blood types as well, to be sure, but as far as O+, as any forensic anthropologist worth his salt would tell you, before any Euro-settlers came to America, O+ ONLY existed in the Western hemisphere.... so if you're O+, you are 100% guaranteed part NA.

My point? O+ people tend to be more carnivorous than most, actually needing red meat to maintain the best of health (leading some evolutionists/scientists to believe that we are closer to animals than most - but I don't see it lol).

Using this to my advantage, I stuck to eating meat and minimal grains - no sugar, and lots of water. As for caffienne (sp?), yes, but in strict moderation.

I also only ate that which was prepared at home, not eating at restaurants - an especially good bit of advice to adhere to while trying to lose weight - particularly in America.

Besides that, I latched onto a job consisting of physical activity - making steel-reinforced concrete foundations for houses to then be built upon.

About 8 months later, I'm back to my high school build.

Ooh - okay, I should stop typing before I write a dang novel hehe

Have a nice night! ^_~

I think what you went through is natural in long term weight loss. I do this myself, the important part is to stop before you've undone all of your progress and it seems you've this. I know you'll jump back into the swing of things and blast the weight off again!

There IS more good stuff to come, but it does help to have that kind of comment as you push off the blocks. :) Good for YOU!

Hey John, keep up the good work. Don't let plateaus keep you from your ultimate goal. I've been in a weight loss/management program since the early 80's and believe me I know there will be plateaus and setbacks along the way. Remember though that the best feelings will come from inside, not from others (although they don't hurt).
