Weekly Update - 2/10/2008

February 10, 2008 · 15 comments

  • Diet starting weight: 295
  • Week starting weight: 263
  • Today’s weight: 265
  • Week weight gain: 2 lbs
  • Total weight lost: 30 lbs

Well enough procrastinating, it’s time to post the ugly numbers.  Yep, a gain. Again.  Bleh.

Things I did well this week:

  • Started the week off well lifting weights Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
  • 5 hours of skiing yesterday.
  • Starting doing situps upon rising in the morning.
  • Starting blogging again.

Things I did not so well this week:

  • No cardio.  I really need to pick this up.
  • No major binges, but just a few too many seconds.

I’m forgetting what it feels like to see losses on the scale and I don’t like that.  I am going to try my best this week to log everything I eat.  Maybe the problem will be revealed there.

Food journaling is an excellent way to discover hidden areas of food most of us probably don’t even realize we’re eating.

I look forward to seeing the results of the additional cardio…………………..:)

One day at a time John. You can get back on track.

Good luck this week, John. You *have* lost 30lbs so don’t lose sight of the fantastic work you have done so far. You can totally see losses again, and it will feel so good.

I am starting again this week with a better attitude too, so hopefully we will both see losses next week.

Keeping a food journal is a great idea. Since I started keeping one I’ve been able to cut snacks completely out of my diet. I don’t often take seconds anymore either. I want my journal to look clean, so I avoid eating stuff so that I don’t have to write it down. Don’t sweat the 2 lbs gain. You’ll get back on track soon.

You’re on the right track by journaling and keeping up with the exercise, it’s just a little bleep on the scale. I know you’ll be seeing losses soon. Health and Happiness

I really think that food journaling is making all the difference for me right now, I really like sparkpeople because it gives you a calorie, carb, fat and protein range, you can customize it to meet your goals or follow their advice.

I’ve found planning my meals as much as possible helps too.

Don’t lose sight of how far you’ve come, yes you’ve lost 30 pounds but with the exercise time you’ve put in, you’ve probably gained muscle and lost more fat than 30 pounds.

Don’t focus on the week. Focus on the big picture. You have lost 30lbs! How many other people can say that? How many people have already given up on their weight loss goals? You are a machine bro! Keep it up! We are all behind you!

Get back on that treadmill man!!!!

You just need one good week to breakthrough the malaise and you’ll be back on track.

Good luck this week.

Hang in there. You look like you are getting goodly amounts of exercise, but perhaps eating more than normal calories. I think journaling the food is a good idea. I’ve found that now that I am older, I can NOT get away with the stuff I used to and need to be more careful about dietary lapses.

Logging is a good re-start and can definitely open your eyes to opportunity. Best wishes for making it a great week!

“I’m forgetting what it feels like to see losses on the scale and I don’t like that. ”

Tell me about it. I’ve been sick for two weeks now. Bluh!

Keep sight of your goal- you’ve made some excellent progress so far! Love your blog-it’s an inspiration (much needed in this “losing battle”)

Yeah,

I’m trying to work out now too. Doing a lot of cardio, but I thing that is most important is the diet. Controlling the input is the easiest way to master the equation, but it is so hard for us. It’s all mental discipline though.

hi John! I know this comment seems far-fetched to the topic but I just wanna thank you for playing JoeTech’s slot on my sidebar. You won 800 EC credits, and also I won the same amount. Thank you very much!

Here was my post about it…
