Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds

Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds

Without a doubt one of my favorite snacks is a handful of Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds. A serving of 28 almonds is 170 calories, of which 140 is fat. I have to say I was pretty happy to read somewhere that almonds made a good healthy snack. If it isn't true, don't tell me! I have a few cans in my office and I usually grab some in the middle of the afternoon, although I have been known to have some mid-morning as well. Our pantry is stocked with more and in addition to eating them as a snack (often times a half-handful) I'll add them to salads for a little crunch.

I remember eating these same almonds when I was a kid. I think they were the only flavor. Now they have all sorts of exotic flavors like Jalapeño Smokehouse, Lime n' Chili, Maui Onion & Garlic, Salt & Black Pepper, Salt & Vinegar and Wasabi & Soy Sauce. I do mix it up occasionally but I am pretty set on the old standard - plain old Smokehouse.

Recently I got a deal on Planter's almonds so I gave them a try. Ish! There was no comparison and I won't be buying those again at any price. They had a really strange texture, kind of chewy when I expected crunchy. I eat a lot of other Planter's nuts like their cashews, peanuts and macadamias, but I'll be staying away from their almonds.

I've been eating Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds for 30+ years and I don't see anything changing that.

Try the unroasted..they are healthier. If you get roasted, make sure they are roasted in healthy oils.
