John - You are going to continue to blog while abroad, aren't you? We want to hear all about your European adventures. I'm particularly interested in the food you'll be eating. They sure don't seem to have the weight issues that we Americans do!

I personally just want to make it through Thanksgiving without going berserk!

Hang in there, John, and good luck. It's always tough to lose when you're out of your comfort zone, but it is possible. Just do your best and you'll be fine. Good luck!

I am stuck doing South Beach because my wife wants to do it. Personally, I don't like any diets that cut carbs that much, but for my wife I'll take a bullet.

Heck, maybe it will help me pass the 165lb mark. Who knows.

Hi John,

I think it's very positive that you're focusing on the positives, on all of the healthy actions that you're taking for yourself.

I also think it's awesome that you're maintaining your current weight, rather than gaining! You really are doing great, although I do also believe that you would find your process to be much easier by getting off the sugar, since that only keeps your cravings alive. If you don't have a problem with sugar though, and it doesn't give you cravings for more or cause overeating, then that's brilliant - keep on going with your plan and I'm sure you'll be seeing 267 very soon. :)
