- Total weight lost: 26 lbs
It's been another of those weeks where I have to force myself to look at the bright side. I'm not happy that I didn't lose any weight, but I am still in the 260s despite a week where I did very few things right.
Things I did well this week:
- My willpower won out over the hotel mini-bar. Didn't eat the turn-down chocolates either.
- I exercised in a hotel gym (albeit only once).
- I didn't have any major binges or deviations from eating plan.
Things I did not so well this week:
- For the 5th week in a row I did 2 or less cardio sessions. I've really got to get this improved.
- I did no strength training. This was a conscious decision going into this week, but I was supposed to use the time to do cardio, which didn't happen.
- While I didn't go on any major eating binges if I were to add up all the little bites of sweets throughout the week I think it would add up to something substantial. I've got to steel that day to day willpower.
I really needed to have a good week and it didn't happen. I'm disappointed in that. But all I can do is shrug it off and move forward. The next couple of weeks are going to be really tough – I leave for Europe on Wednesday and won't be back until Dec. 1st, the day before my weigh-in scheduled for 2 weeks out. I will miss next week's weigh-in.
My goal for November was to lose 6 pounds. I have 2 pounds to go and I have 2 weeks to get it done. Ordinarily that wouldn't be a problem. But away from home with all the temptations this trip will bring it is going to be much harder. I'm going to bring my heart rate monitor and my running shoes and I plan to do a lot of outdoors running (I don't think any of the hotels I am at have a gym). I'm going to focus on moderation when eating.
I hesitate to look ahead (one day at a time should be my mantra) but my hope is that I come back at 267, then have a good week at home and shave another pound or two to get myself firmly entrenched into the 260s. Then I'll be ready to swear off the 270s and admit to myself that this is working.
Wish me luck.
