I am honored to announce that I am a finalist in the category of Best Medical/Health Issues Blog for the 2007 Weblog Awards! These awards are the real deal, not like that spammy Blog of the Day award that has been going around. The 2007 Weblog Awards will be handed out live at BlogWorld & New Media Expo in Las Vegas!
The Weblog Awards are the world's largest blog competition, with over 525,000 votes cast in the 2006 edition for finalists in 45 categories. Nominations for 49 categories ended October 17, 2007 and voting is scheduled to begin November 1, 2007. Final results will be announced November 8, 2007 at the BlogWorld & New Media Expo in Las Vegas.
While there were many weight loss blogs nominated, I somehow managed to be the only one that made the finals. No matter how the voting turns out that makes me quite proud! I'm up against some great competition. Finalists in this category include blogs on cancer, pregnancy, leukaemia, gluten, general med, emotional wellbeing, chronic fatigue syndrome, autism and the ramblings of a surgeon/scientist.
