My Digital Scale

October 16, 2007 · 5 comments

One of the first things I did when I started my weight loss plan was to invest in a new digital scale, the Tanita BF-683W Body Fat/Body Water Feature Scale.

I did some research online and found Tanita to be a trusted brand. I liked a number of the features of the scale, in particular the body fat % which seemed like another good number other than weight to track. In addition to that it also reports your body water %. I really don’t understand how all that works, although this article on fitbuff.com tries to shed some light on it.

The scale has the ability for 4 different family members to track their statistics, which it stores for the last 10 readings. There is also a guest mode if someone just wants to check out their own stats.

The scale is rated up to 330 pounds. It seems solid enough when I stand on it and battery life so far has been good, although I’ve only had it for a couple of months so I wouldn’t expect them to be drained yet.

If you are looking for a new scale I don’t think you can go wrong with a Tanita.

DUDE! WTf. I was just about to post about my new scale that I bought. Now I need to post about something else for now. Ugh. I guess great minds think a like.

A good scale is crucial for me.

I have been using tanita for about 7 years now and I love it. I am sure that I will never use another brand. Although I probably need a new one.

My wife bought us the Tanita BF-682W scale a few years ago and it hasn’t failed us yet. Most of the time, though, I just use the weight reading.

I had my eye on a Tanita a couple years ago and didn’t get it…I also researched them like you did and found that they’re supposed to be an excellent brand….I really like that feature re: your body water %. I do use a digital scale and it gives me half and whole pounds, but it doesn’t do the other cool stuff that your’s does. :)
