I knew going into this month that it was going to be a challenge because of a 4 day trip to Chicago this week and another 3 day trip the week after next. So I set my goal for the month at a modest 5 pounds lost. If I can lose 1 pound during my travel weeks and 2 pounds during the others I’ll have beat my goal for the month. So that’s what I’m going for in terms of results.
In terms of decisions, I need to improve a lot. I got lucky this week to have my result be a loss because overall I didn’t do great. This is when forcing myself to write about it can help - I need to remember that I am trying to change my routines and how I interact with food. That will take a lot more will-power than I have shown to date, despite seeing some early success.
Things I did well this week:
- About the only thing I stuck to plan on was Cardio, which I did 3 times for 37 minutes each session. However, even with this I stepped back some because I did not fully follow my normal interval, walking more than usual so my miles and mph were down on the week. I’m only putting this on as a did well because I did one of the sessions in my hotel in Chicago, which is still a big deal for me.
Things I did not so well this week:
- Ate a huge meal while out with co-workers in Chicago.
- Ate a lot of pizza at my daughter’s birth-day party on Saturday.
- Did NO strength training the entire week.
- Did not meet my drinking water goals.
Given my poor decisions this week I am elated to have stayed in the 270s. I thought there was a good chance I was going to wake up this morning to 280 and I am relieved that was not the case. There are no excuses for me this week, time to dig in my heels.
