I feel fitter when I wear running shoes

New Shoes

Ever since buying a pair of properly fitting running shoes (two pair actually) I have been wearing my running shoes more and more as I go about my daily business, whether it’s going to work, the grocery store or watching my kids’ soccer games.

The last few summers I have been wearing Crocs sandals, which I think are really great. Of course they are all the rage with the kids but adults like them too. And for me they were just what I needed because my feet, water, and the leather sandals I normally wore just didn’t get along. Think odor!

So I’ve gotten used to wearing my Crocs everywhere. I like them so much I’m a stock holder (which has been a very good thing!).

But you know what I have realized? That when I walk around with my Crocs sandals I feel like a fat, lazy slob.

It took a great fitting pair of running shoes to make me realize that. Now when I go out I am much more likely to wear my New Balance shoes and they just give me a spring in my step.

It’s sort of weird, but I just feel fitter wearing them, even if I am not running.  I’ll be wearing them more!

That’s so funny because I was just thinking I should get a new pair of walking shoes.

I completely agree, especially when they are brand new!!! I feel like a “real” athlete in brand new running shoes!!
