Weekly Update - 9/24/07 (Monday)

  • Diet starting weight: 295
  • Week starting weight: 281
  • Today’s weight: 282
  • Week weight lost: -1 lbs
  • Total weight lost: 13 lbs

(Note, I am posting my update on Monday because I was out of town all weekend camping and couldn’t do my normal Sunday update.)

I knew this week was going to be a tough one to stay on plan because I was challenged both by a business trip on Monday-Wednesday and a camping trip Friday night through Sunday.  I did great on my business trip but camping was another story and in the end I paid for it with a 1 pound weight gain.

Things I did well this week:

Things I did not so well this week:

  • Friday morning I could have done my strength training because I was at home still but I skipped it because I had been up late the night before.
  • No strength training or cardio from Friday-Sunday (did a ton of rough terrain walking while camping, however) which means that my progress charts for both exercise plans went down for the first time.
  • Ate too much of the wrong things all weekend.  Can you say S’mores?

I’ve got to match my biggest weekly weight loss of 4 pounds to hit my goal for September.  Other than taking a day trip to Chicago today which will prevent me from doing cardio I should have no problem sticking to my plan all week and having a shot at achieving that goal.

  • congrats on your loss.
  • Could you imagine what your camping trip weight gain would have been had you not been working on this? Great job. I am like putty when it comes to camping (s’mores and other campfire delicacies)
  • I always find it harder to eat well when on the road. Lately I’ve settled for Chic-Fil-A grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad (no fries) and a bottled water.

When I got a restaurant I look for a combination of two things: all things grilled and all things fish or chicken. You usually can’t go wrong with that combo.

  • s’mores…ummm… chocolate was my weekend downfall too, but happily I’ve lost back almost all of what I gained.

Congrats on making only a minimal gain in a very rough week. I know how tough it is to keep on track while traveling!
