I Love Pluots

Pluots. Yum. Part plum, part apricot. Sweet and juicy. I’m not sure when they hit our grocery store but I noticed them a few weeks ago and have been buying them by the sackful. They really make a great treat. When I need that sweet tooth satisfied I have been reaching for the pluots lately instead of the chocolate.
According to the Wikipedia entry the Pluot is actually 3/4 plum and 1/4 apricot. The photo here shows a Dapple Dandy Pluot but I have actually been eating mostly Flavor King brand Pluots. Highly recommended!

Being different and new is exactly why I tried them the first time. I also tried an Asian Pear at the same time but I’m afraid the experience was not so good.
