Kind Fruit & Nut Bars

Kind Almond & Apricot fruit bars are my new favorite between meal snack. At 170 calories each I don’t feel guilty eating them like I do some chocolate covered protein bars, but best of all they serve to both satisfy my sweet tooth and keep me nourished until the next meal.

I have an 80 minute car ride home from work on many days and I have found that by keeping one of these in the car and eating it when I get on the road I am able to easier block out the fast food siren call I normally would get on my journey home. It’s enough to get me home to a better dinner and since I am not starved it helps keep me from eating too much at home.

Right now you can pick up a box of 16 bars at Amazon for $1.49 per bar, and if you spend over $25 total with the order (would just need to add a couple of dollars more than the cost of the bars) you get free shipping. I’ll have to look it up the next time I go shopping to be sure, but I am positive I pay over $2 per bar at my local grocery store.

Kind offers a wide variety of different fruit and nut combinations, but so far Almond & Apricot is the only one I have tried. Next on my list will probably be Macadamia & Apricot.

  • John! I saw these at a local warehouse store we shop at in bulk. Wondered if they were good–I’m going to try them. I wonder if they have High Fructose Corn Syrup though? I find that stuff in everything lately, and I am trying to avoid it. Thanks for the tip, though. I’ve been eating Clif Mojo Bars lately—they are great….peanut butter pretzel. Similiar calorie counts, maybe a bit higher…but I think it might be a bigger bar.

  • Angela - no HFCS. Kind seems to pride themselves on natural ingredients. It didn’t occur to me to look at Sam’s Club to see if they have them there, I’ll have to do that - once I get through the boxes I bought from Amazon of course!

I have also tried the almond and coconut bar and it’s really good too - a little more calories at 190.
