When I Was Thinner

A young and thinner John

That’s me about 20 years ago at I would guess 185 pounds.

There is one thing that stands out to me about this picture, can you guess what it is? (You can zoom into the picture by clicking on it if you really want to)

  • It’s not the very stylish all black “night on the town” look.
  • It’s not the wild hair (won’t be seeing that ever again I’m afraid)
  • It’s not the oh so cool dangling earring, or the silver necklace.
  • It’s not the plunging neckline (OMG did I really dress this way??  Youth!)

It’s such a basic little thing, but it’s that damn belt buckle.  Like, you can see it.  Like, it’s standing straight up as opposed to a severly titling angle.  Like, it isn’t cutting into my flesh and causing sores.

My belt buckle now is closer to parallel to the floor than perpendicular.  I want it standing straight and proud, and I want it visible, damn it!

John! Thanks for checking out my site and linking to me ; ) Funny thing? I weight what you did twenty years ago, and I could choke myself. Of course, I am 5’2 and a female and all……heh….
